He took the occasion of an event commemorating the 50th anniversary of his release of the Pentagon Papers to sound a warning about what he described as an "asinine" and "criminally insane" discussion about the likelihood of the use of nuclear weapons by the U.S., mentioning in particular comments by StratCom chief Admiral Charles Richard. “That discussion is going on, I have no doubt whatever, in the Pentagon right now...."He said that a war with Russia or China, puts us "at a high risk of escalation to nuclear war. And if it goes to nuclear war ... we are talking about the near extinction of humanity. No, there should not be the slightest option, threat or thought whatever of armed conflict with Russia and China now or ever again,” he insisted. He disclosed that the U.S. came close to using nuclear weapons against China in 1958, when Secretary of State John Foster Dulles asked the Joint Chiefs of Staff to recommend to the President that they be used during the crisis in the Taiwan Strait. In reporting this, he was citing still-classified documents from the RAND Corporation. Acknowledging that releasing these documents could lead to his imprisonment, he called on future whistleblowers to come forward, saying that a war of annihilation is likely "unless people in the government show the moral courage of Ed Snowden and Chelsea Manning ... and let us know what these inside plans are....Without that, I think civilization will not survive the era of nuclear weapons.”
While the prospect of a June summit between Presidents Putin and Biden is becoming more likely, such a meeting alone will not guarantee peace, unless the underlying axioms embedded in the idea of a "Rules-Based Order" are rejected. This idea is a modern iteration of the geopolitical outlook imposed by the British Empire, at the end of the 19th century, which led to two World Wars in the last century and is pushing humanity to the brink of a possible nuclear war today. He reported on a RAND Corporation document -- still classified -- which reveals that John Foster Dulles favored a nuclear strike against China during the Taiwan crisis in 1958. The Group of 7 Foreign Ministers met in London to prepare for June's leadership conference. They devoted two ninety-minute sessions to coordinate military and financial containment of Russia and China, two nations they designated as threats to the "Rules-Based Order" (RBO). While there, Secretary of State Blinken praised the U.S.-U.K. Special Relationship as the cornerstone of the RBO, to insure adherence to "democratic values and human rights." He then went to Kiev, to deliver the message that the G7 stands behind Ukraine's "sovereignty" (!), in the face of alleged threats from Russia. Meanwhile, NATO continues with the largest military exercises in eastern Europe in years, on Russia's doorstep.
Edward Snowden provided us with an excellent example of how to debunk the self-righteous rants from the likes of Biden's Secretary of State Blinken. After Blinken used the occasion of World Press Freedom Day to praise the U.S. for its advocacy of "press freedom", Snowden asked, "What about Julian Assange?". This is one of many examples of the hypocrisy of the unipolar order demanded by the Biden government and its U.K./NATO allies, as they push the world toward war. We cannot let them get away with their commitment to imposing "rules" which benefit the globalist elites of the City of London and Wall Street, while pillaging the rest of the world.
Both Biden's Secretary of State Blinken and National Security Adviser Sullivan were trotted out for Sunday news shows to defend the "rules-based order" against threats from Russia and China. The order they back is a global central banker's dictatorship, to be enforced by U.S. and NATO military might. The oligarchs they work for are the true authoritarians, and their goal is not only to take away our freedoms, but our lives, as their order is putting us on the verge of World War III. In the days following Russian President Putin's National Address on April 21, which he stated was meant to send a "stern warning" to those out to destabilize Russia, Schiller Institute chairman Helga Zepp LaRouche sounded an alarm. Carpenter is presently the director of the Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement at the University of Pennsylvania.

The Belarus State TV station reported that a top Biden adviser, Michael Carpenter, was involved in the plans for a regime change coup in Belarus, including the assassination of President Lukashenko. At the same time, leading mouthpieces of British intelligence call for "raising the cost" imposed on Russia for its alleged continued "malign behavior," arguing that failure to do so "convinces Russia it is free to carry out attacks across Europe with impunity." Now they are blaming Russia for a 2014 explosion in the Czech Republic, despite Czech President Zeman saying state security found no evidence of Russian involvement. The anti-Russia cabal responded by introducing impeachment proceedings in the Czech Senate. Sound familiar?
On April 23, I interviewed Col. Richard Black (ret.), on his view of the inhuman sanctions the U.S. has imposed on Syria, to provoke a change in regime there. Col. Black, the former chief of the U.S. Army's Criminal Law Division at the Pentagon, was blunt in his condemnation of this policy, which he described as "brutal" to the extent it makes him ashamed of what the U.S. is doing. The devastation unleashed throughout central Europe by the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) was ended by an agreement, called the Peace of Westphalia. This treaty included a declaration of non-interference in the domestic affairs of sovereign states. In 1999 and for the next five years, British PM Tony Blair ran an aggressive campaign to move into a "post-Westphalian world", based on a doctrine of the "Responsibility to Protect", to justify regime change against sovereign nations which don't accept "our values." Iraq, Libya, Ukraine and Syria have already been subjected to mass murder, and Russia and China are targeted. In the face of an overall frenzy of flight forward provocations coming from Washington, London and NATO, Russia's President Putin addressed the Russian people -- and the world -- on April 21, in a speech described accurately in the western press as conveying a "stern warning."
